Emergency Response Protocols
We always prioritize safety first—for your pet and ourselves.
CPR Steps (Per PetTech®):
-
Ensure the area is safe.
-
Check responsiveness: call name + gentle tap.
-
Open airway, remove visible obstructions.
-
Give rescue breaths: every 4–6 sec (dogs), 3–5 sec (cats).
-
Begin compressions: 30 compressions to 2 breaths
-
Use fingers for small pets, hands for large dogs
-
-
Continue until revived or help arrives.
First Aid for Common Issues:
-
Bleeding: Apply pressure for 3–5 min. Do NOT remove objects.
-
Choking: Tilt head, give back blows. Begin CPR if unresponsive.
-
Heatstroke: Cool with wet towels. Stop once body temp reaches 103°F.
-
Poisoning: Call ASPCA (888-426-4435) or Pet Poison Helpline (855-764-7661)
