How It Started
Steve San Miguel and Hong-An Huynh founded Pet Sitting 4 Comfort® in 2016 after seeing a need for dependable, personalized in-home pet care.
Before PS4C, Steve spent approximately five years working in a veterinary-clinic environment, gaining experience with senior, recovering, and medically complex pets.
That experience helped shape a simple idea:
Bring attentive care to pets in the environment they already know—their home.
In 2017, Steve transitioned from veterinary-clinic work to focus full-time on professional in-home pet care.
Building PS4C Together
Steve and Hong brought different strengths to the business.
Steve
Focused on hands-on pet care, field operations, specialized routines, Meet & Greets, and caregiver training.
Hong
Built much of the scheduling, client communication, organization, and care coordination behind PS4C.
Together, they built the company around three priorities:

Why In-Home Care?
For many pets, staying home means keeping familiar routines, surroundings, and care patterns.

This can be especially helpful for cats, senior pets, shy or anxious pets, and pets needing more involved support.
Communication From the Beginning
Keeping pet parents informed has been part of PS4C since the early days.
At first, updates were shared through written visit diaries, texts, and emails.
Today, PS4C uses Time To Pet for visit reports, photos, scheduling, and client communication.
The tools changed. The goal didn’t: keep pet parents informed while they’re away.
Growing Without Losing the Personal Side
As PS4C grew, Steve and Hong chose a small in-house employee team instead of an open network of independent sitters.

2016
Steve and Hong launch Pet Sitting 4 Comfort®.
2017
Steve transitions from veterinary-clinic work to full-time professional pet care.
2021
PS4C becomes a Virginia LLC.
2024
Pet Sitting 4 Comfort® becomes a registered trademark.
2025
PS4C welcomes its first employee.
2026
PS4C celebrates 10 years of serving local pet families and continues growing its in-house team.
