Since 2016, we have provided Fear Free Certified® and medically informed in home pet care to Arlington families who want more than basic drop in visits. Our credentials ensure your pet is cared for safely, confidently, and with respect for their emotional and physical needs.

Fear Free Certified® Pet Care

Pet Sitting 4 Comfort® is officially certified by Fear Free Pets®, a globally recognized program focused on reducing fear, anxiety, and stress during pet care visits.

 

Our Fear Free approach includes

  • Respecting body language and personal space

  • Gentle handling using positive reinforcement

  • Allowing pets to set the pace of interactions

  • Enrichment focused routines that avoid forcing contact

This approach is especially helpful for shy cats, anxious dogs, senior pets, and pets with past trauma.

Dog and Cat Training and Behavior Support

We are certified through Animal Behavior College with focused training in dog and cat behavior.

Areas of training include

  • Low stress handling techniques

  • Fear based and reactive behavior support

  • Enrichment planning and routine building

They have also completed the Karen Pryor Academy Train Your Cat course, strengthening their ability to support sensitive or anxious cats in home environments.

Pet First Aid and CPR Certified

All PS4C team members are trained through PetTech in emergency preparedness and response.

 

Training includes

  • Pet CPR and airway support

  • Heat related illness response

  • Allergic reaction recognition

  • Wound care and bandaging

  • Emergency assessment and escalation

 

These protocols align with nationally recognized veterinary and emergency care standards.

Certified Professional Pet Sitters

Pet Sitting 4 Comfort® has earned the Certified Professional Pet Sitter designation through Pet Sitters International. This certification reflects knowledge of safety, ethics, business practices, and responsible pet care.

PS4C Team Training Standards

Every PS4C team member completes structured onboarding and ongoing evaluation.

 

Training includes

  • Shadowing and live performance assessments

  • Safe medication handling including oral injectable and topical

  • Emergency response drills and incident documentation

  • Fear Free handling and behavior observation

  • Continuing education under Steve and Hong’s supervision

 

We do not send untrained or unfamiliar sitters into client homes.
